House Hunting!

With the economy the way it is you are lucky to be able to get into a house. But with interest rates lower and the right timing these two are hoping to be home owners soon! Just before we went to the birthday party Rachel called and asked Kerry and I to go and check out a Townhome that they had found. It is in Pleasant Grove and a very nice place. They decided to put an offer on it, and after a counter offer was made they are now waiting for loan approval. Exciting times!

This is just inside the front door.
Obviously the kitchen. We're keepin' our fingers crossed for them.
Stay tuned for further developments.

An Exciting Evening for the family!

We a hard time getting together the last little while because of Kerry's travel and meshing that with everyone else's schedule. Several weeks ago Natalie scheduled a night for the family to get together for dinner so that everyone, except Cyd and Ken of course, could plan and be there. Before we ate dinner we had a small family meeting to talk about travel plans and going to Honolulu... But the best part of the evening is in the video, watch and enjoy.

After the celebration we had a meal full of family traditions! What I fun evening.

I sure have had fun keeping these secrets but was ready to let everyone in on them finally!

St. Spencer's Day and friends celebration.

I can't believe this guy is another year older! We were hoping Pirate Island Pizza would be open in time for his celebration but it wasn't so we went to the usual Chucky Cheese for the family party. It was fun to be together for those of us who could be there.

We all got into the spirit of the green! Some were just more into it than others were.

Aren't they cute?

Good thing Jes brought along a little extra green for Rosemarie, but I got my pinch in first!

mmmm, good cucumbers.

Is it present time yet?

Brotherly love!!

Finally!!!!

Just rip it open.

Glad Dave could sneak up to be with us, what could these two be whispering about?!

Mom made these great green cupcakes, see?

YUM

Chucky even sang a special number for him.

Clap along everyone!

You mean we can finally get on the rides guys?

It was fun until it went up into the air.

Don't bug me Grandma I'm concentrating!

The basketball toss, we all love to take a try at it.

Concentrate a little harder Jes, got to get that center circle.

Oh oh. we lost Dave again!

A few days later his friends and Grandpa were around to celebrate as well. The new sandbox was a treasure chest for the "Pirate" party and a hit with all of the kids.

Capt'n Spencer opening the art set.

Grandpa putting the art center together with a little help from his friends.

Where does this thing go Grandpa?

The latest cake masterpiece! Too cute to cut.

Checkin' it out, his own personal pirate ship.

Yes she really cut and served that cake.

Looking at all of the treasure in the treasure chest they all got.

The eye patch that he refused to take off and kept looking at. Finally Jes got it off of him but the area around his eye was bright red.

It was warm enough to bring out the otter pops that day and snowed again two days later.

The art center in it's new location and the family checking it out after the friends left.

What a fun couple of "Pirate" days. Bye guys!
I can hardly believe they have gotten so big, they are so much fun. I am so excited to experience more Grandma times!!!!!

Draper Temple

On February 27, 2009 Kerry, Rachel, Cameron, Rebecca, and I were able to go up to the Draper Temple Open House. Dave, Jes, and the boys were supposed to go but Jessica ended up with walking pnuemonia and so they were not able to go up with us. It is so pretty. I was lucky enough to go back with Jessica and the boys on March 12th, Dave was not able to get his schedule cleared so I went with them. It was fun to see the reaction of the boys as they went through. Caleb made some pretty precious comments in various rooms. I am so excited to be able to go to my seventh temple dedication this sunday. It is such a neat experience. I am also glad that Kerry will actually be home to be able to go with us.

Best Buddies!

Totally amazing!!!

I can't believe how excited I am to be a Grandma again! I used to laugh when people said that it was one of the best experiences in the world but they were absolutely right! This is from Cydney's blog from the Ultra sound that she had today. Look at those details. Grandkids are the greatest but that it easy when they have such great parents! And yes I am very biased!

Go Cougars!

It's time for March Madness and BYU is number one seed in the Moutain West Conference, wish I coud have gone down for the tournament, maybe one of these years! All I can say is GO COUGARS!!!!!!!!!!!

Sooo excited!

Just got the news about one of our favorite restaurants coming to Utah County!
We found this when we went to Maryland for Rachel and Cameron's open house at his parents. Before we left we went to lunch with his dad and have been excited to see them opening here in Utah now one close to us where we can go for a good burger once in awhile!

New Favorite Song

For years I have always said that I am not really a Country Music lover. However, I keep coming across songs in the country genre that express my thoughts so eloquently. This is my latest find and it happens to be another song by Martina McBride. I know that each of my kids have been going through individual struggles in life as well as many others I heard this song and tried to find it to give to them for Valentines Day but couldn't find it before I left for Kansas. I can't wait to add this to my music library.

Ride
Yeah ahh yeah

(Verse 1) You wake up from your dream and, and you don't want to face the day and
You can't find a reason to think your world will ever change
You can hide beneath the covers
Or you can run outside head up high and carry on

(Chorus) Life is a roller coaster ride
Time Turns the Wheel and Love Collides
Faith is believing you can close your eyes and touch the sky.so
Shine while you have the chance to shine
Laugh even when you want to cry
Hold on tight to what you feel inside and ride...

(Verse 2) It brings you up slowly then shoots you like a rocket towards the ground
it twists you and it shakes you before it turns you upside down
You can't see what's around the corner and
You can't look back, so just live it up and feel the rush

(Chorus) Life is a roller coaster ride
Time Turns the Wheel and Love Collides
Faith is believing you can close your eyes and touch the sky.so
Shine while you have the chance to shine
Laugh even when you want to cry
Hold on tight to what you feel inside and ride...
Ride, ride, ahh yeah, yeah oh yeah
Shine while you have the chance to shine
Laugh even when you want to cry
Hold on tight to what you feel inside and ride
Ride, ride,
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!!!!
There is an old saying that goes like this-

Fool me once shame on you,
Fool me twice shame on me!

It appears that I am the fool for getting succored into a stupid television show like "The Bachelor" once again. Thanks ABC for returning that wasted time back over to me. To think I felt sorry for this guy... his family kept saying that they didn't want him hurt again maybe there are reasons. Never the less I will never watch this ridiculous premise of a show again not even if it is "The Most Dramatic Season Ever!"
I think that it is time to get away from all of this reality crap! The weather has turned cold again here and the promise of Spring is a little ways away again, time to find a good book and curl up on the couch with the TV off and some classical music in the background.
