Clara

I can hardly believe she is two today.  Such a sweet little doll.  We were able to see her in December but I miss them all so much and can hardly wait for her daddy to graduate and them to move closer!  Happy Birthday Clara I wish I could have been there to celebrate with you!  Love you so much.

Standing Alone

Through the fence behind our property you can see that the forms have all been removed and the foundation stands all on it's own.  As important as that is look at the blue sky above, so beautiful after the last few weeks of cold and inversions.  Tonight more snow.

What goes bump in the night!!!!

I am not sure why when Kerry goes out of town house noises seem to be louder and occur more often but they do! At 4:00 am I thought Quate was digging at the gate and then I started listening intently and realized the noise was actually coming from our roof.  The raccoons are back, we had been warned by our neighbor that they had seen raccoons on our roof while we were gone in the fall.
While I was semi awake there were suddenly thumps going down the roof and then a major crash down on the ground outside.  I did not get up and look out but struggled to go back to sleep instead.  When I let Quate outside later in the morning I saw that the snow shovel that had been leaning on the patio last night was lying on the ground and with further inspection I saw definite little footprints in the fresh snow.  I decided to take a picture of Quate's fresh print and compare to the other new ones.

Quate's little furry round print.

The critter's prints that led to the fence and up.  Quate has also been on the scent every time he goes out to relieve himself.  I have wondered about Quate's hearing and this proved he is losing his hearing because even through the crash he slept soundly.
All I can say is that if they decide to go to the roof again tonight I hope they have a better grip and don't go crashing into the shovel again.

Engineer

I married this guy because I was in love, or so I thought at the time, but have fallen more and more for him as time has gone by.  Today I am grateful for the engineer part of him as we continue to scan and dream over the plans for our new home.  We went out to see progress today and discovered a problem that we need to take care of before they pour the concrete floor in the basement next week.  Fortunately we discovered it before then and brought attention to the builder.  Kerry is making a change on the master plan to explain what the problem is!  Nice he has those skills.

It's Pouring Outside

It's happening today the foundation is being poured and my excitement is real!  I will keep a regular log on here for my sanity.  I don't want to appear boastful and so I will avoid all of the posts on facebook.  I felt like a little kid at Christmas as we drove down Center Street in Lehi and I could see the equipment as we got closer.  "Baby It's Cold Outside" is still an appropriate song title for this winter.  I hope the foundation is a good one in these temperatures and I feel so sorry for these guys working in this cold.  Moving forward!!!!!

Love at a distance

Thankfully Cyd sends us pictures to keep us in touch with these little ones.  I am so anxious for them to move closer when Ken graduated in a few months.  In the mean time the pictures keep us in touch.
He is growing so fast, I miss the little baby stuff!

Finally--I am so excited

We have had our lot if Lehi for several years now and I have looked forward to building one day.  After trying to get started this past summer it looked it would still be one day.  We got a phone call telling us that we finally had a loan that was satisfactory we began moving on it.  Rebecca kept asking me how come I didn't seem more excited and I said until I see a shovel bringing up the soil on the lot I couldn't get very excited for fear of something happening again.  Well on December 20, 2012 it finally happened!  We are building our house in Lehi.  SOOOOOOO excited!

We love Nora!

After Cydney shared a couple of stories with us about our little Nora being bullied because of her glasses we were all very sad and wanted to help her.  Being so far away and so young we weren't sure how to cheer her up exactly.  Jessica came up with the idea to have all of us that wear glasses take a picture together and let her know she isn't alone.  So hear is our "unification" picture.
She laughed at it and asked how come she wasn't in it, I can't wait to take one with her!

Love these moments!

As much as I take pictures of my grand kids I still look for these moments with my girls and I love when I find them and especially when they don't realize I am watching.

Cute as a button!

This little girl knows how to make a Grandma feel so special.  Her little giggle as she snuggles up to me just warms my heart.  Each time I come into her view she makes it seem like she hasn't seen me for years.  Oh how I love my grand kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

34 years today

Here we are together for 34 years, today.  Sometimes it is so hard to believe and then others as if it were just yesterday.  I love this man so very much and am so truly thankful his roommate asked me to cook for his apartment.  He was they shyest guy I had ever met and a challenge for me to get to talk.  I love talking and dreaming with him to this day.  Happy Anniversary my love.

NewYears Eve 2012

After a very busy year a quiet celebration for the New Year was very nice.  We had dinner and played games.  The kids didn't make it to midnight but we played a few games.  After the kids were in bed will continued to play games, it had been a long time since we had done done this and it was fun.  We even managed to get in a couple of rounds of Pit.
