Gordon's in Hawaii

Each of the kids are going to get a chance to stay with us in Hawaii this time it was the Gordon's turn. We thought that they were never going to come off of the plane the night they arrived. We had expected them to come from a different area and so when they finally appeared at the end of this long hallway we were pretty happy to see them.

Of course Kerry has the traditional leis.

It was pretty late when they got there so we just got everyone ready for bed.

The next morning Dave and the boys were out checking the view from hotel.

This was the beginning of the favorite place to be while they were in Honolulu.

They could have played here the whole time and would have been perfectly happy.

When we pulled into the parking garage the first time Spencer noticed the bars into the elevator area and said "look it's a jail!" and so I had to get a picture of them inside.

Where Caleb fell in love with Hibiscus, everywhere he went he noticed them and the variety of colors and sizes.

Laniakea Beach or what I call turtle beach. I was so excited to bring the boys here to see the turtles. It was fun to play here both times we came.

First trip to the Dole Plantation.

We took them to one of our favorite places to eat "On Dong" but these guys didn't seem to like as much as the rest of us.

They took an afternoon cruise for lunch and had a lot of fun. They made leis and saw some of the native dances and had some of the traditional foods.

At the International Market I took the boys to a spot where I knew they would find Gecko's and they did.

The USS Missouri is ready for some major repair so a lot of it was covered and not visible by us.

If he were a dentist on the ship this is where is office would be.

Here they are looking at the quarters that my dad would have had to travel in and sleep in while serving during World War II on different ships. Hard to believe that such a big man would fit in such a small place.

We caught the bus back to meet Grandpa downtown to go on and ride a submarine.
They were sure shocked to see Grandpa jump on the bus with us.

After a long day Spencer hitched a ride with Grandpa. While Caleb and I were getting ready to hop across the street on the cross walk lines.

We were playing in the Hotel and he was hiding from me but actually went to sleep in that position.

We met Grandpa one afternoon at the Lego store where they boys had a lot of fun picking out a bucket of toys to take home with them. Sir Spencer couldn't miss the sword and shield.

Back at Dole to ride the train we had to feed the fish again.

With Rosie's really gone we had to find another place to eat so we tried "Spaghetini's' just small little place that we all really liked.

The last day was full of beach time and lots of fun.

Before they left for home they had some pictures taken at Waikiki, this one of Spencer is my very favorite because he caught me off guard when I was expecting a different expression. But it is his personality in a nut shell.

During the photo session these Japanese tourists decided they wanted to be a part of it as well. It was funny but we also missed some of the best time for the sunset picture that Jessica wanted. Spencer didn't know what to think with these people jabbering at him in Japanese.

And then much to our dismay it was time for them to head home.

It had been such a fun week.
